Custom Jacket Printing Burnaby

Need custom jackets printing in Burnaby, BC? Screen printers have a lot of fun with jackets. Jackets are a popular way to finish a work uniform, and sports teams in the fall, winter, and spring like having coordinated jackets to wear on the road and on the sidelines. Even if your consumers aren’t looking for logged jackets, having a variety of jacket alternatives to offer; offers you the opportunity to up sell with almost any order. However, the potential given by jackets is not without its drawbacks. Screen printing on jackets can be difficult; unless you are familiar with a few of the techniques required to successfully print on any jacket.

Types of Jackets

Jackets are now available in an unlimited variety of styles, from soft fleece quarter-zips to slick athletic jackets, thanks to garment wholesalers. Nylon coats, on the other hand, are still a popular choice. Understanding the material of your jacket and the problems it offers is the first step in successfully screen printing on it. You may next devise some printing techniques for your specific jacket product.

How to Decorate

Regardless of the type of jacket you’re screen printing on, you’ll need some form of ink additive to get the job done. Plastisol ink just won’t cling to smooth, nylon surfaces without some assistance. There are additives for plastisol ink that are specifically designed to help the ink stick to the nylon surface. If you’re printing on a polyester warmup jacket or fleece jacket; a low-bleed additive will keep the dyes in the synthetic fabric from sublimating and colouring your print during the curing process.

Another issue with printing jackets is that during the printing process, they have a propensity to move on the pallet. This issue may occur on virtually any type of jacket, but it’s more prevalent on lining coats; the lining of the jacket adheres to the pallet, while the outside layer you print on shifts on the press. The easiest approach to deal with this issue is to use a jacket hold-down pallet.

If you print on coats regularly, a jacket hold-down is a good purchase. If you don’t print on jackets regularly; or if you’re dealing with a single-layer jacket like a windbreaker or fleece, you may knot the jacket’s sleeves beneath the pallet to keep it securely attached to the surface. For a single-layer jacket or fleece, you may alternatively use a spray adhesive.
